Supreme Court applies Muzzle on Animal Activists – Strays to stay off the streets

Supreme Court Judges Honorable Justice Mr. Pardiwala and Justice Mr. Mahadevan have given landmark judgement that will be cherished by Bharat for ages to come. Solicitor General Mr. Tushar Mehta was also able to argue that helped the judges come to a conclusion on the issue and furnish a verdict that puts citizen’s welfare above everything.Supreme court took a suo motu case on stray dog incidents giving a hope to the citizens that their SOS call will finally be addressed.

A special mention of Honorable Justice Mr. Vikram Nath and Mr. Sandeep Mehta for their observation on community feeding while hearing a petition on harrassment of animal feeders. The court observed that the petition can feed the stray canine at their home.

The country has been gripped with mongrel terror for more than a decade, thanks to inefficient corporation or municipalities coupled with empathy misplaced self proclaimed animal activists. Whenever Municipalities try to act, over zealot animal activists do everything possible to interfere and block the authorities from doing their duty.

The inability of parents watching their wards behave like mongrels after being infected by rabies should shook the conscience of the nation. Social media warriors have posted many such videos, alas the dogammas and dogappas group didn’t convey their condolences, but spammed the same medium with videos of canine love to water down the issue. The very thought of pack of dogs around you is scary for many especially children and elders.

Dog chasing two wheelers on the street creates panic and can cause accidents. Drivers trying to avoid a mongrel on the road is another reason for accidents. Dogs defecation on the roads, on tyres, scavenging trash and spilling it all over has caused civic concerns in urban areas. The barking noise disturbs sleeps and increases risk of life for elders.

The measures to control dog population through ABC method has not yielded any desired results. The process of sterlisation, vaccination and dumping them back in the same area where people have complained about the nuisance lacks common sense. Almost 5700 people die due to rabies in Bharat as per an article published by Lancent with nearly 9 million dog bite cases. The alarming level has forced the Supreme court to hear the matter and give relief to innocent citizens of this country.

The day when a citizen is able to walk on the streets without inhibition or fear of being attacked by canines is a day of freedom.
