The unfortunate and dastardly bomb blast in Red Fort, Delhi took away many lives and injured several innocent human beings immediately brought forth the anger against the terrorists. The greatest asset of this NDA Government has been in controlling cross border terrorism and Naxal/Maoist attacks since 2014.
Yet, we cannot claim the country has been terror free, but it has been largely under control compared to the previous regimes. The Home ministry has been tough just not on terrorists but on the abettors or those who have been directly or indirectly involved, masquerading as citizens of India.
This is the USP of NDA Governance. The citizens can have a peaceful life under the able leadership of Home Minister Sri Amit Shah, NSA Chief Sri Ajit Doval, the NIA, ATS and other agencies. However, this confidence was slightly shaken during the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir and in fact it has turned into appalling angst and anger against the same commendable names mentioned above, after the Delhi Red Fort blast.
Our initial response to the appalling attack in the capital city was that the demand for the Home Minister’s resignation seemed fair. The incident occurred right under the noses of the country’s most revered leaders, making the demand even more justified.Questions were raised like “Has the Home Ministry become complacent and overconfident, playing with gullible lives of our innocent citizens.”
The facts seem to point to the contrary. NIA and ATS have been at their toes, proactive and with their own intelligence and inputs, tracked the existence of a network carrying many tonnes of ammonium nitrate at Faridabad. One clue led to another from J&K to Haryana to unravel a massive terror network.
The outcome of the investigations revealed the involvement of doctors, and a part of the blast materials was still at large. Further probe revealed that these were being gathered to create multiple blasts in Delhi and perhaps other cities as well. Our agencies had less time and were chasing the balance ammonium nitrate somewhere being transported around in the country.
The arrests and seizure from Faridabad probably made the terrorists to shift the location and it led to Delhi Red Fort Area. It is understood that the vehicle was near Police Barricade and in panic the bomb seems to have been detonated, yet the full details of the background of the blast is still developing. The ATS has been preventing so many blasts and harm but only the explosions come to our notice.
The fast-paced approach by the agencies in closing in on the bomb-laden car unfortunately appears to have triggered the explosion. It is an irony the success of our agencies has resulted in the blast rather than deterring. It is unimaginable and dreadful to think of unthinkable, had the ATS and other agencies did not zero in on these materials, the resulting network of blasts in the country would have brought the entire India to its knees.
It is reported that on December 6th serial blasts would have taken place across the country which has been smartly prevented by our intelligence agencies. In a striking irony, the Delhi Red Fort blast appears to have been triggered by the very actions of the ATS.
